How to Keep Your Skin Hydrated and Glowing Through Fall and Winter

janegee Elixir Corrective Serum

Fall is here and as much as we love this season for the changing leaves, apple picking, and cozy nights in, our skin tends to not always love it as much. With the crisp, cold air being here to stay these next few months, it’s important to protect your skin from loss of moisture. Read below to discover Jane’s top tips to keep your skin hydrated and glowing all fall and winter long.

Jane’s Top 3 Fall & Winter Skincare Tips

1. Protect & Hydrate Your Skin

During the cooler months, it's crucial to help your skin get the hydration it needs. The change of season can wreak havoc on your skin. Two of our favorite ways to boost hydration is by adding a serum and a treatment oil into your routine (if you haven’t already!). After cleansing, apply our Elixir Corrective Serum. Elixir is a powerhouse of natural ingredients that will boost hydration and balance your skin. Then, before moisturizing, apply a few drops of one of our Face Oils. Our Face Oils will help protect, revitalize, and moisturize the skin without feeling oily. These two products are an incredible combo to brace your skin for going out into the frigid air.

    2. Enjoy a Mineral-Rich Bath

One of the best things you can do for dry skin is give it minerals. An easy way to accomplish this is by adding our Dead Sea Salt to your bath. Dead Sea Salt contains 10 times more minerals than ordinary sea salt. When added to your bath your body will absorb the minerals, helping to soften and hydrate your skin. Be sure to keep the water temperature lukewarm, as hot water can dry out your skin.

      3. Adjust Your Diet with the Change of Seasons

As always with skincare, you want to support your gut and digestion. When it comes to eating for dry skin, you want to focus on using food and nutrition to support skin hydration and healthy skin cells to maintain the function and integrity of the skin. However, hydration isn’t just drinking plenty of fluids. It's also eating foods with water content and healthy fats to help maintain your skin’s moisture and oil production.

Specifically for dry skin, incorporate healthy fats and protein, drink plenty of water, and eat foods that support healthy skin cells which include antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. See the lists below for ideas for foods to include into your fall and winter meals.
